Do you know that you can get free car insurance when renting a car? I call it my swift car insurance. Absolutely all rental companies pitch the so called “inexpensive car insurance” at the counter when renting a car. That’s how they make a lot of money by instigating a fear factor upon you.
The truth is that if you have a credit card, like American Express or Visa you don’t even need their cheap car insurance quotes. What you should do is to compare car insurance quotes among the credit card companies before going on trip. Then, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to get swift car insurance.
For example, American Express offers standard $50,000 liability coverage and bunch of other nice features, like free towing, new rental and customer service that works for you. As a matter of fact, I called to compare car insurance quotes to American Express, Visa and MasterCard before we went on our trip to Europe last summer. Without a question, American Express came out a winner.

I asked American Express to send me a copy of their standard policy. Apparently, they have a whole department that only focuses on car insurance. You can even compare car insurance quotes. If you travel with the United States, then you should call companies like State Farm Insurance, Travelers or Liberty Mutual directly. The representative there will answer questions about the policy. On the other hand, do not call companies, like Progressive. For once, their rates are not cheap. I will tell you a lot more these so called places where you compare insurance quotes online and get “cheap car insurance quotes”. Most importantly, these car insurance brokers don’t know about my swift car insurance. Think about it. How can they know? They are there for one reason only to sell you car insurance. They are sales people, not underwriters. But we can sympathize with them as well. After all, who can read hundreds of pages of different policies?
Have noticed that no sales representative at the car rental counter volunteers the information that free car insurance is available? Not once. Not ever. This is in my opinion a major conflict of interest. I mean think about it. You are really getting swift car insurance in two places. First, you are getting free car insurance through a major credit card company. Second, you are getting swift car insurance through your insurance company.
So why does a car rental company wants to provide you with inexpensive car insurance a third time? The answer is very clear; this represents a major source of revenue for them.
